Choosing the right size

Triathlon wetsuits are not comfortable when worn out of the water. When choosing a wetsuit, remember that it is not a pair of pajamas: the first time you try it on in a store or in your living room, it will certainly feel very tight and you will wonder how athletes can wear something so uncomfortable!

Wetsuits should be tight, if not downright tight. This doesn't mean that the suit should hinder breathing or movement, but it should still have no air pockets in contact with the body. Also remember that wetsuits expand when they get wet and won't be that uncomfortable once in the water.

A good way to check if the wetsuit is the right size is to squat down and practice swimming motions in that position. If you only feel a little resistance, then the wetsuit is perfect! If there is no resistance, it may be too big, and if there is too much resistance, it is too small.

If you can’t zip it up, don’t force it! Sometimes people have trouble zipping up their first wetsuit, so before assuming that the wetsuit doesn’t fit because of the zipper, it’s a good idea to ask a friend to help you. If they can’t zip up from behind, then you really need to go a size up.

If the entire suit fits except for the length of the arms or legs, you can adjust the length by cutting a strip with scissors. Use a large pair so you can do the cutting in one motion. Remember, however, that altering the suit will void the warranty.

To help you choose, on our website we have provided a table with the size chart for each product. Generally, height and weight already provide an excellent indication, but in any case do not hesitate to contact us for more information on the fit.
