Apeks XTX40 DS4 Nitrox

Key Features

• First Stage

  • Utilizes the DS4 stage.
  • Over-balanced diaphragm system: as the diver descends, this feature allows the gas pressure in the hose to increase faster than the ambient environment.
  • 2 HP ports and 4 angled MP ports for optimal hose routing.
  • A dry chamber system keeps water away from the main spring, preventing ice buildup and keeping out silt and contamination.

   

  Second Stage

  • Pneumatically balanced second stage results in smooth and easy breathing.
  • XTX purge buttons are large and easy to operate. A two-stage progressive purge is used: lateral pressure for a smaller flow purge (when more control is needed), in the center to maximize the purge effect.
  • The large Venturi lever has a soft rubber grip, making it easy to locate and use. The lever reduces the amount of grit ingress and thus resists any possible friction, giving smooth operation. The cracking effort control knob is easy to grasp and helps the diver maintain control.
  • The second stage is made with active infection protection as all molded parts are produced with an additive that fights fungi and bacteria and is also very effective against viruses, molds, yeasts, and algae.
  • A silicone exhaust valve improves the regulator's breathing performance.
  • The Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece virtually eliminates jaw fatigue.
  • A heat exchanger (patented) surrounding the valve mechanism dissipates the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing on the heat from the ambient water.
